We'll be able to pay for our home in one payment, and we'll be working at our dream jobs. Maybe we'll get the chance to swipe a black credit card. I know that some day, we look forward to going to bed at night, without actually worrying about anything, other than "8 hours tonight? Yeah!" Greetings from NY! I've been here for 5 days, 2 more left, and it makes me sad thinking about it. Thank you Danielle and Tatum for being so kind as to letting Jennifer and I stay at your place. Brooklyn is beautiful and it reminds me of SF a bit, except for no one here shuts down their business by 10pm, and everyone dresses interesting! Hanging out with the girls has been lovely, I can't express how happy I am to be in New York. I've shot film too, so I can't wait to develop it, and I'm hoping to make a little video of my stay here, in the city that never sleeps.

It's been a while since I've felt overwhelmed with stress from the amount of work I have to accomplish before I leave to NY on Monday. So on that note, to everyone out there (followers and friends), forgive me for my lack of photo posts, and absence in real life. I must inform you that I have been extremely busy shooting all summer, and I cannot wait to sit down, relax, edit, and chill. Taking 3 classes this summer has been a bit rough, but I just want to finish these classes quick so I can upload everything I've photographed. 'Love you all, and I cannot express how beautiful this summer has been, full of so many opportunities that I have been given, and the incredible people I have encountered these past 3 months.

Man, I cried from beginning to end. It's been a while since a film has done that to me, thank goodness I was alone because I was a total crybaby. Beats, Rhymes & Life: The travels of A Tribe Called Quest was beautiful and represented hip-hop in the most amazing way possible. As soon as I sat down in my seat, I just felt so much love and positivity. I can’t express how much I love ATCQ, The Native Tongues, that whole era of hip-hop and everything before them that inspired this beautiful movement of amazing music. I wish and I hope that ATCQ could reunite under positive circumstances, and just do one more album, and perform one more time. Michael Rapaport, you did a great job with this film.

Life is good right now, life is busy, life changes, life thoughts, my brain is all over the place, but I'm proud of what I have accomplished these past couple months. All of the nights that get less than 4 hours of sleep, nights full hw from 3 classes this summer, nights spent editing...I can't wait to see the rewards that come from it. Before there there was Gaga, before there was Britney, before any of those mainstream names, I looked up to these pop singers! Even after re-listening to them right now, I'd definitely choose Fey over Britney Spears, Mercurio over N'Sync, and Kabah...well they top the list, simply because they were the first pop group I ever listened to! If you know my style and how I dress on a daily basis, you'll know I don't wear a full outfit that is from this current point in time, there always has to be a garment from 'back in the day' thrown into my outfit. I've now realized that these groups have helped influence the way I dress now. I'm thankful for such a nostalgic night.

21 Aftermath

I celebrated my 21st birthday quite differently from the "norm" 21 year old. All I can say, is that it was the most relaxed day I've had in a really long time. I tried my best not to think about photo projects, which was extremely hard, and I spent most of my day just thinking and thinking. I love you ladies; Sydney, Taylor, Kacesi, Paige, and Kim, couldn't ask for a better group of best friends. Also, all of the wonderful people I've gotten to know these past few years and continue to get to know, I love you all too of course.
I'm alive, I'm healthy, I have people in my life who support me and love me (which I give in return), I truly have nothing to complain about in life so I'm trying my best to throw out all of the negative thoughts in my mind. I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the United States, surrounded by wonderful people. I have an education and will do everything in my power to graduate successfully. Photography, now I could never forget my one and only love, and I couldn't describe my relationship with it better than the one and only Lady Gaga..."Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you're wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn't love you anymore."
The one thing I'm most proud of is that I've been sober for 21 years, and counting. I'll continue to live the straight edge lifestyle to prove you dont need toxicity in society or in your body to have a good time, or even, you don't need it at all. I feel that great things are going to be taking place soon, and I can't wait to share it with you. Thank you to everyone who has followed my work, you're a part of my inspiration and motivation, so keep it coming! I keep history alive with my love for the 80s and 90s! When I first saw this photo of Will Smith, the first thing my eyes went towards....PANTS!!
I got my pants a few months ago in San Jose. When I traveled home for the winter break, my mom even said she had a pair of these pants back in the 80s.
Recently, this photo came up and I just HAD TO DO THIS!

Mt. Hamilton

Don't you get frustrated sometimes when you have an idea stuck in your head, you know exactly how you want it to turn out, but then there's always that doubt...the doubt that keeps the idea from resulting like the perfection that it is, inside of your head? My photo productions/ideas are what have taken over my brain this past month, and these months to come. I'm shooting my first important spread of the semester this Sunday, along with Kacesi doing the styling, a new make-up artist and model, whom I will mention later on. Positive vibes positive vibes positives vibes, it's only a matter of time. +++++++++++
I feel like I'll read this tomorrow and say "wtf?", 'going to bed early tonight, that's what's causing this madness!

Time to work and plan everything out. Here we have German Expressionism, Goth, and the 1920s serving as my "blue print" for this shoot. Mr. Raffaelli

I've known Mr. Raffaelli for about 4 years now. We first met through my mother; where she works at a nursing home. My mother took care of him, during his stay at this nursing home, while he was slowly losing his vision. At the beginning of 2010, he could no longer see and he was allowed to go back to his home; my mother, and my aunt alternate every week taking care of Mr. Raffaelli.

The only thing he can see, is shadows and certain areas where light is shining, and he has now started to lose his hearing. I can't begin to explain what a wonderful person he is. He's a generous person, who does not get enough in return.

Mr. Raffelli never runs out of stories to tell when I visit him; always telling me about his Italian heritage, his wife (r.i.p.), and he never forgets to talk about San Francisco. I love it when he plays Frank Sinatra and sings along to such classis songs. He always remembers to educate people on actors from many many years ago, it's quite relaxing listening to him speak.

I'll never forget the day that I took him out to eat breakfast at Village Inn, and Mr. Raffaelli just sat there sipping his coffee looking from side to side. The people around us would never know he was blind. Suddenly he looks towards the blinds, where the light was peeking through from the sun rising, and says, "I miss that, ya know?" I stared for a bit, wondering what he was talking about then responded, "No, what are you talkin' about Mr. Raffaelli?" He softly replied, "I miss being able to see the sun rise, and I miss listening to everyone tap their spoons against their coffee mugs, ya know things like that." I had a few tears come out, and I'm sort of thankful he wasn't able to see me and all my sappiness that morning. It's sad that it takes another human being, who has lost their vision and/or slightly losing their hearing, to make you realize you have to pause and notice the little, forgettable things in this world. Even if it's something like someone tapping their spoon against their mug. Mr. Raffaelli has a special place in my heart.

I met Karen and Josh (a.k.a. Stick E. Figga) through my friend Nick at the AAU Dance For A Chance jam. I invited them to the studio the week after, and we had ourselves some fun. Modesto Mix

Over Thanksgiving my friend Paige invited me to her lovely home in Modesto, CA. We randomly ventured one night, right after it rained and it was beautiful! I got all experimental with the shots I got. Thanks to Photojojo's inspiration, Paige and I put paper over our lenses (with holes in them) and created a cool pinhole effect! I call these, Modesto Mix photos, since I photographed the beautiful stars too and compiled them all together!

The end of TULLE...for now!

For the past few months I've been working on my tulle project and it's been a great journey; to put so much hard work into one idea. I've had a blast working with everyone who took part in this, I'm truly thankful. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MODELED! This will not be the last time you see me working with tulle, I plan on going bigger with this. Good luck to everyone during this last week of the semester.

Dance For A Chance

This past weekend I attended AAU's Bboy jam, Dance For A Chance. In order to get in, people were asked to donate food or clothing, so it was all for a good cause. I filmed some of the battles as well.

It was about time that I got back in the studio with the bboys! Flexum and Nick Fury were kind enough to hang and get their photos taken. This was also the first time I met Flexum (Gordy) in person. Thank Tumblr.com for that! Good times with these guys, especially when you eat a Jarritos Burrito at the end of the night (Flexum poured his drink onto his burrito instead of the hot sauce, ha!). While I was listening to Sleigh Bells on lastfm.com, I was about to change the song when suddenly I see my images from Coachella 2010 pop up! It's crazy how photos get around. I'm not sure if there's a way to give me direct cred, but I left a comment with a link to my flickr account so people know who took these photos. In a way I'm disappointed my photos got taken, but at the same time, tons of people are looking at them!
